This collection was created during the ongoing genocide on Gaza. Throughout this period, the stories of those who were killed occupied a profound space in my mind, conscience, and imagination. I found myself carrying their faces and names with me every day, and often dreaming of them at night.
The decision to paint a particular person or story was never entirely conscious. There was no deliberate process of selection. Rather, certain stories insisted on being told and found their way into my work. I believe that every life deserves to be remembered, honoured, and preserved beyond statistics and headlines.
Through these paintings, I attempt to bear witness to individual human experiences within an immense tragedy. Each work is an act of remembrance and a reflection on loss, dignity, and resilience.
For me, art is not separate from truth. While art seeks beauty, its deepest purpose lies in standing alongside truth, freedom, and humanity. It is this conviction that guides these works and gives them meaning.
